Cameron Young Maintains Six-Shot Lead at Cadillac Championship Heading into Final Round

Cameron Young remains in full control at the Cadillac Championship, maintaining a commanding six-shot lead heading into the final round at Trump National Doral's Blue Monster course. Young carded a 2-under 70 on Saturday, bringing his total score to 15-under par for the week — a lead that looks formidable heading into the finale.

Despite not having as easy a time as he did in the first two rounds, Young's steady play was enough to keep his challengers at bay. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler sits in a tie for second place at 9-under par after shooting a 3-under 69. He is joined by Si Woo Kim and Kristoffer Reitan, who also sit six shots back.

"The tournament's in his hands right now," Scheffler acknowledged. "I can go out and have a really good round, and if he has another really good round he's going to be a tough guy to catch. All I can do is go out and try and have a great round and see where that leaves me."

The final round promises to be a true test of endurance, with heavy rain and potential thunderstorms forecast for Sunday. Tournament organizers have moved up tee times in an effort to beat the worst of the weather, with players going off in threesomes from split tees starting between 7:30-9:40 a.m.

Young, who shared the lead through three rounds at the Masters earlier this year before finishing tied for third, will be looking to close out the victory and secure a significant title. Scheffler beat Young by five shots in that final round at Augusta National, and will need to produce something similar — or better — at Doral if he is to prevent Young from claiming the championship.
